Takin' a dip...

We just got back from visiting our family in NC. Hayden practically lived in the pool and we joined him every day as well. It is so warm down there that the pool feels like a warm bath, no matter what time of day it is. However, there was a hint of autumn in the air as it cooled down some while we were there. As you can see, Hayden was feeling pretty silly down there.

Jelly Beans anyone?

The Jelly Belly RV was at our local Wegman's store today, so of course we had to stop. Just a few pics of the RV and Hayden with the inflatable jelly bean.

Saturday outings...

Just a quick pic from what has become our Saturday evening outings. We all head over to the driving range and hit balls for an hour or so. Hayden seems to have a real interest in golf, however we are trying to teach him that golf is a "slow" game, not a race. We have never seen anyone go through a bucket of balls as fast as he does! But if you know Hayden, you know that he doesn't do slow very well! He is also a fan of Tiger Woods, of course. So much so that the only Gatorade that he wants to drink is the Tiger formula. Who knows, maybe he will turn into a pretty good golfer and hit the course with his dad every weekend!

Our after the range treat is Rita's for dessert. They serve frozen custard, italian ice or gelatos or shakes made with both. It is awesome and I can't believe it took us so long to try it. We are now hooked. For our Colorado connection, I don't think they have made it your way yet. May I suggest franchise?! If not, we'll add that to our "to do" list when you come this way for a visit!

The Creation...

Here is the previously mentioned lego creation in the works. He has everything from Star Wars and Indiana Jones as well as several that he has "invented", such as the lego port-a-potty. It is the taller bluish structure toward the rear left and it even has a "potty" built on top to mark it clearly! Maybe he is fascinated with those since I will do everything I can to keep him out of one!

Welcome to Lego World...

This is how Hayden spends his downtime during the day. He heads to his room and creates with his Legos. This is just a small sampling of what he is working on. It may look like a lego explosion but he has something working there. To the left, which you probably can't see, he has a lego layout that he is constantly reworking. He is extremely creative and we are anxious to see how he uses that ability as he grows up.

On a cleaner note...

Hayden received mail today from The White House. This was a response to the letter he mailed to President Bush several months ago.

He was very excited as he got a letter addressed to him along with a picture of the President, and also some stickers of Barney the dog. He really wants to visit the White House, so hopefully we'll head down to DC some weekend and visit all the landmarks there!

In my house?

Today was the first day of Science Camp for Hayden. Our school district has some weekly camps during the summer that the kids can attend. He went to the art camp earlier in the summer and chose to attend this one as well. Today they learned about germs. Yuck. This is a paper cup, covered with plastic wrap and a rubber band thankfully, that contains some type of liquid gel substance. According to Hayden, they used cotton swabs to find the germs and then put them into this gel. He said they swabbed their nose, the floor and inside a sink drain at the school. Lovely! As most of you know, I am a germ-phobe so the thought of this in our house was not very appealing, but it is science so how could I say no?!
