Fall Happenings in Central PA

Yes, I have been away too long. I have become a victim of Facebook and I am sorry!

Here are some recent photos. In the past few days, most of the leaves have fallen, but I was able to get some shots of the view from our neighborhood yesterday.
We have trick-or-treat in our township this evening so there are some pics of Hayden, or Spock, and his dog, as well as our pumpkin carving of a Puffle from Club Penguin.

WE ARE REDMEN!

I finished reading the book "Our Boys" about the Smith Center Redmen football team. I grew up about an hour from there, and my family is from there. My grandparents still live there and my mom has been there visiting for the past week and a half. It made me extremely homesick for my childhood days and there are so many memories in Smith Center.

Nana sent Hayden a shirt from there this week, and he is proudly wearing it today!!

First Day of 4th Grade!!

Today was the first day of school here and Hayden was off to 4th grade. His teacher is Mr. Wade and that is who Hayden wanted! Aside from being a great teacher, he grew up in Colorado, so he is a Bronco Fan!! And Hayden thinks that is so cool, being that is where he was born!!

He wanted to wear his Bronco shirt today, but I explained that he should wait at least a few days!! So we opted for our other team, the Yankees!!
I am anxious to hear how is day went.

Just a few updates...

Just wanted to add some pics of what we've been up to. Of course, Hayden has to add pictures of Leia and of his Lego creations. He is now making the Enterprise and its bridge from Star Trek.

There are also some pics of my boys playing in their first parent/child golf tournament at the country club a few weeks ago. They played 18 holes and it was warm!!

What a storm...

Hayden and I left around 11am this morning to run to the store and it was sunny. As we drove home about 45 minutes later, the sky turned really dark. We drove through a burst of really heavy rain and strong winds. The roads were starting to flood. As we came out of it, and got closer to home, we could see the damage. Lots of branches on the roads, trees uprooted, etc. As we got into our neighborhood, someones trampoline was pushed from their back yard up to the front drive and lots of debris on the road, etc. It was weird to see people out walking around surveying the damage. We came home to our trash bin into our mailbox, but not bad. Then went around back and found our big tree was broken from the top and another part pulled off the side. At least there was no damage to the deck or the house, and we were all safe.
